Plantar fasciitis is a disorder/ problem related to foot when you can’t stand for a long period of time. It happens when the band of tissues that connect the heels to the toes from underneath gets damaged. You can feel it on your foot as well. Place your hand on the bottom of your feet and stretch your feet. You will feel a long band of tissue moving and stretching. This is known as the plantar fasciitis in our body. This is the muscle with the help of which we can easily walk or run. However, damage to this tissue can cause a lot of pain too.

This can create little tears in the ligament which afterwards start causing a lot of pain. Sometimes, you can’t get up from the bed and perform daily activities too. Symptoms of this issue include difficulty in walking or running properly, getting up after staying in bed for a long period. You might have heard people saying that you should wear shoes which are comfortable for your feet, which mean whether you like it or not, heels are not one of them. This is because if you don’t wear comfortable shoes, you might end up having the issue of plantar fasciitis. Remember that it only makes you uncomfortable when you are standing or walking, if you have foot pain in the night, this might be an indication of something else like arthritis.
As far as the plantar fasciitis treatment is concerned, many doctors will recommend taking a lot of bed rest so that it can recover on its own. It is a band of ligament not muscles, so it is hard for it to get recover soon. Some doctors give you painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce the amount of pain. The best way to recover is by doing a lot of rest. If you are not good fans of doctors, you can recover by doing some home remedies too. Try massaging the area for some time with the help of coconut or olive oil. This will soften your skin and reduce the pain. Plus, it will also help to increase the blood flow to the area which will help to make it better soon. You can also reduce the amount of pain by placing your feet in the warm salty water for 15 to 20 minutes. It will also help you a lot.
If nothing is working out for you, you can try the option of surgery as well. However, usually 95 out of 100 patients recover easily from plantar fasciitis without getting any surgery.
